Allow me to qualify my statement.
I can be disappointed in the length, but that doesn't mean its a bad game (or in this case a bad campaign). I'm just saying it's disappointing that campaigns are quickly being shoved aside for meaningless online deathmatch modes. Coop/splitscreen though? Real glad to see that making a return. I'm not arguing the value of the package, rather the length of the SP.
Also, with all due respect... saying "X game did it too" doesn...
Sorry, but you can't tell me to not be disappointed in a 5 hour campaign.
"I don't buy games purely based off of graphics. I play a game to play a game. If I cared that much I would watch some Pixar movies"
If more people thought like that around here, maybe we'd have less time wasted on arguing over pixels, or bashing FFXIII on 360 and Bayonetta on PS3.
I didn't. FFXIII wasn't for me.
The answer you are looking for is - very cool.
Again with the logic. It's an epeen waggling contest, instead of celebrating the achievements of tons of hard working devs, it has to be a pissing match by people who had NO hand in said development.
But hey, my toy is better than your toy. So now I'm better than you, right?
"Games that are linear are smoke and mirrors built"
Every game is based upon using tricks, smoke and mirrors, regardless of system or genre. It's a basic fact of the industry.
"I do think its unhealthy to compare ps3 game and 360 games, simply because neither side will acknowledge that both consoles put out great looking games."
Agreed.
I also agree with you Bea, as always. Damn your logic!
"My point is that I want the game to be great on its own merits"
Bubbles for you man. I totally agree. A game is great because it's great, not because of hype, a review score, or any other BS reason used in these silly console wars!
I love discussing games, but it's so sad that on a site like this, you can't say anything positive or negative about a GAME, even constructively, because you are immediately lumped in as having a CONSOLE bias. So utterly stupid...
It IS rather funny that two of the most... I want to say story driven titles this generation, Alan Wake and Heavy Rain, both seem to suffer from HORRID voice acting.
Man it has atmosphere in spades... awesome. The cutscenes DO look noticeably better and are quite gorgeous, and while that little bit makes me think that the daytime visuals suffer compared to the night ones, that scene on the lake is pretty gorgeous any way you slice it.
Hopefully with a better finale than Halo 3 or Gears 2? Both were great games with weak finales IMHO.
1up and IGN both said about 5 hours, sadly. Not arguing quality, but that is just way too short any way you cut it for a campaign, same with MW2.
1) Less MP lag.
2) Better bosses.
3) Much better final boss.
Can't wait to see how this trilogy caps off, if they can just fix these issues!
I don't think MS cares how they look on some trashy blog site man.
"The game" is not the same as "the SP campaign" sir Crab.
Stan - "not noting or forgetting completely that the reviewer had played said campaign 3 times."
I'm all for quality over quantity, and SCC looks to have as solid package which I'll certainly buy... but I don't get your statement here? I mean, I've replayed Super Metroid at least 20 times, but it doesn't make it a 50 hour game, does it? It makes it 50 hours worth of entertainment, but those are different things.
I just think if reviewers are going to be &qu...
Does the Coop have splitscreen?
Actually it's called game development. Every title in HISTORY, regardless of platform, has had some manner of edit, cut, or streamlining due to deadlines. Anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves. The difference being, many devs just don't talk about it.
Hey Row, I responded above to a similar post as yours.
